Our hospital convened the first-quarter technical quality management meeting.
To comprehensively enhance scientific and technological innovation capabilities, elevate the standard of technical quality management, and concentrate resources on developing new‑type productive forces, our institute recently convened its first‑quarter meeting on technical quality management. Chief Engineer Li Yinzhen attended and addressed the meeting, which was also attended by the institute’s chief expert, departmental chief engineers, key technical personnel, and relevant staff from the Geological Science and Technology Department, for a total of 27 participants.
The meeting comprehensively reviewed and summarized the Institute’s geological science and technology work for 2024, systematically assessing the achievements of the past year in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, quality management, talent development, academic training, geological data management, and qualification accreditation. Key directives were conveyed and studied, including General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on ecological civilization during his inspection tour of Hainan, as well as the requirements set forth in documents such as the Ministry of Ecology and Environment’s Office’s “List of Measures for the Protection and Construction of Beautiful Rivers and Lakes” and the joint notice issued by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on the application process for the 2025 Central Government‑funded Program for the Protection and Construction of Beautiful Rivers and Lakes. The meeting called on all departments to align closely with national strategic priorities, integrating key tasks such as ecological restoration and resource conservation into every stage of geological science and technology work. In addition, to encourage technological innovation, honorary certificates were presented on-site to the teams and individuals recognized in the 2025 “Exhibition and Evaluation of Highlight Technologies” competition, thereby fully acknowledging their breakthroughs and accomplishments.
During the exchange and discussion session, participants engaged in an in-depth dialogue on the institute’s efforts in scientific and technological innovation, technical quality management, and academic exchange and training, while also identifying existing issues and challenges in light of their day-to-day work. Wang Jiguo, Assistant to the Director and Head of the Geological Science and Technology Department, provided timely responses to related questions and proposed improvement plans and corresponding measures concerning project quality management, training and competitions, and award applications. He emphasized that technical quality management must be closely aligned with the institute’s geological science and technology management system, ensuring that the principles of stringent standards, high efficiency, and production‑driven outcomes are effectively implemented, thereby achieving standardized and proceduralized management.
Li Yinzhen emphasized three key priorities: First, we must remain guided by scientific and technological innovation, cultivate a stronger culture of innovation, and concentrate our efforts on enhancing the efficiency of innovation. We should further strengthen collaboration in talent development and platform building, coordinate resources, and pool our strengths to secure leading chemical‑technology projects at the bureau (group) level. Second, we must rigorously manage project quality by fully implementing a three‑tier quality‑management system and integrating quality‑assurance activities throughout the entire project lifecycle. Third, we need to intensify the comprehensive organization and analysis of documentation, foster multi‑party communication and coordination, and proactively prepare and pursue provincial‑level funding initiatives, thereby laying a solid foundation for the year’s work. 2025 marks both the concluding year of the 14th Five‑Year Plan and the inaugural year of the 15th Five‑Year Plan. It is hoped that all departments will adopt a broader strategic perspective, further reinforce collaborative synergy, and comprehensively enhance their core competitiveness, thus supporting our institute in achieving high‑quality development during this new stage of growth.
