The Party Committee of the Institute convened the second session of its 2024 Theoretical Study Center Group.

On March 25, the Party Committee of the institute convened its second theoretical study session of 2024, focusing on studying and comprehending the spirit of the National Two Sessions and the Third Plenary Session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. The meeting also included an in-depth study of the newly revised Regulations on Disciplinary Actions of the Communist Party of China and the Regulations on Inspection Work of the Communist Party of China. Participants engaged in thorough discussions on advancing comprehensive and strict Party governance, strengthening rectification measures following inspections, and accelerating the development of new‑type productive forces. The session was led by Comrade Pan Weicai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, with attendance by members of the Party Committee and relevant leaders.

The meeting noted that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection scientifically addressed three major questions concerning the Party’s self‑revolution, profoundly summarized the new progress and achievements in comprehensively strengthening Party discipline, thoroughly analyzed the new circumstances and tasks facing the fight against corruption, and clearly set forth nine practical requirements for advancing self‑revolution. This speech represents a scientific synthesis of the theoretical development and practical experience in Party building in the new era, providing fundamental guidance for deepening the comprehensive and rigorous governance of the Party, promoting clean governance and integrity, and intensifying the fight against corruption as we embark on a new journey in the new era.

The meeting emphasized that ironclad discipline is the fundamental guarantee for the Party to maintain its vigorous vitality and formidable combat effectiveness. It is imperative to vigorously strengthen conduct-building, intensify education on discipline and law, and integrate the study and implementation of the newly revised Regulations on Disciplinary Actions with the upcoming Party-wide campaign of concentrated disciplinary education. This will guide all Party members and cadres across the institution to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and his significant thought on the Party’s self‑revolution, accurately grasp the essence and practical requirements of this important thought, deeply appreciate the decisive significance of the “two establishments,” resolutely uphold the “two safeguards,” enhance the self‑immunity of cadres and employees, and foster a sound political environment characterized by integrity and uprightness.

The meeting called for making the study and implementation of the spirit of the Two Sessions a key political task, consistently strengthening ideological education with the Party’s innovative theories, deeply understanding the connotations, characteristics, and development priorities of new‑type productive forces, and focusing on serving national strategies. It emphasized the importance of being innovative and taking bold action in developing these new productive forces, actively participating in the new round of strategic initiatives to achieve breakthroughs in mineral exploration, continuously enhancing our capacity to ensure resource and energy security, supporting ecological civilization, intensifying scientific and technological research, and comprehensively upgrading geological work capabilities—thereby making fresh contributions to safeguarding national energy and resource security and to promoting high‑quality economic and social development at the local level.
