Recently, the Taian Geological Branch of our institute successfully commenced the detailed exploration project for zircon–titanium sand deposits in Mozambique, with Meng Linghua and Zhang Lei leading a team to the mining area to carry out the field investigations.
This project represents a successful expansion into the international mineral exploration market, implemented in line with our institute’s regional development strategy of “rooted in Shandong, serving the nation, and reaching out globally,” and in response to the national call for a new round of strategic initiatives to achieve breakthroughs in mineral exploration. Through geological mapping, drilling operations, sample collection, and laboratory testing, the project has elucidated the ore-forming geological conditions and the fundamental characteristics of the zircon–titanium sand deposits.
In the next phase of field operations, the Mozambique Zircon–Titanium Sand Mine Project Team will uphold the principle of safe production, ensure the smooth progress of exploration activities in accordance with the schedule while maintaining high-quality standards, and implement this critical overseas mineral exploration project to the highest standards. The team is committed to achieving new breakthroughs in mineral discovery, thereby contributing to the Shandong Institute’s efforts to forge a new paradigm for international development.
