To further advance the thematic education campaign in a thorough and practical manner and to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on strengthening the Party’s united front work in the new era, as well as the spirit of the Central United Front Work Conference, our institute’s Party Committee recently convened an exchange symposium on thematic education for united front personnel. Yang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Participants included representatives from various departments of the institute—members of democratic parties, ethnic minority representatives, non-Party intellectuals—as well as responsible officials from the Party Committee Office and the Party‑Mass Work Department.
The meeting conveyed and studied the Bureau (Group)’s “Key Work Priorities for United Front Work in 2023,” the salient points of the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the remarks delivered at the mobilization conference for the thematic education campaign titled “Consolidate Hearts and Forge Souls, Strengthen Foundations, Unite and Strive Forward on a New Journey.” Designated materials for studying the 20th National Congress report and the thematic education were distributed to united front personnel, with a call to deepen theoretical study, promptly keep abreast of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s new requirements for the thematic education, and continue to exert sustained efforts in deepening, internalizing, and translating these principles into concrete actions, thereby continuously strengthening the ideological foundation of the campaign.
At the symposium, non‑Party representatives from all fronts of our institute took turns to speak, drawing on their practical experience and professional insights. They shared their understandings, reflections, and concrete measures regarding the study, reflection, practice, and application of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as how United Front personnel can better leverage their strengths in the new era. They also put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the institute’s reform and development efforts.
Comrade Yang Cheng listened attentively to the remarks and engaged in in-depth exchanges with all participants. He emphasized that the implementation of thematic education must firmly uphold principal responsibility and be meticulously planned and executed. It is essential to thoroughly study and grasp the guiding principles, objectives, and key tasks of this initiative, keeping in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instruction: “All democratic parties should integrate the strengths of multi‑party cooperation with the needs of the central work and the overall situation.” We must conscientiously fulfill our duties, take proactive measures, and continue to consolidate the positive momentum of unity and harmony, mutual support, and pioneering progress within the United Front. By broadly building ideological and political consensus, we will serve the central work and the overall interests at an even higher level, contributing greater wisdom and strength to the high‑quality development of the Shandong Institute.
