On May 12, Pan Shuren, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the China National Coal Geological Bureau, led a delegation to the Sixth Geological Brigade of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources for a research and exchange visit.

Prior to the symposium, Pan Shuren and his delegation, accompanied by Ni Jun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and First‑Level Inspector of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, and Ding Zhengjiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Captain of the Sixth Geological Brigade, revisited the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply letter. They also toured the Sixth Brigade’s Museum of Historical Achievements, gaining a deeper appreciation of the profound significance and rich implications of that pivotal message, as well as the brigade’s sense of responsibility and commitment as a “heroic geological team.”
Ni Jun extended a warm welcome to Pan Shuren and his delegation, expressed his gratitude for their longstanding care and support, and provided an overview of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources. He noted that the China National Coal Geological Bureau, as the national team in coal exploration and a pioneer in ecological civilization construction in the new era, has continuously optimized its industrial structure and expanded its core “geological services” value chain, achieving remarkable results in areas such as mine ecological restoration, geological hazard management, emergency rescue operations in mining sites, and full‑life‑cycle services for mines. He expressed the hope that both sides will leverage their respective strengths, strengthen technological exchanges, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and make new contributions to safeguarding national energy and resource security and advancing the high‑quality development of the geology and mineral resources sector.

Ding Zhengjiang provided an overview of the Sixth Team, highlighting the measures and achievements in thoroughly implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply. He stated that the Sixth Team will vigorously carry forward its fine traditions of patriotic dedication, pioneering innovation, and hard work; strengthen scientific and technological research; intensify exploration efforts; and, in advancing the exploration and development of critical mineral resources and increasing reserves and production, further expand areas of cooperation with relevant units of the China National Coal Geological Bureau, working together to make an even greater contribution to safeguarding national energy and resource security.
Pan Shuren first extended his congratulations to the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources for its remarkable achievements in strategic mineral exploration, breakthroughs in deep‑level gold‑deposit exploration technologies, and the development of science‑and‑technology innovation platforms, as well as to the heroic geological teams for their outstanding contributions to safeguarding national energy and resource security. He emphasized that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply is rich in content, clear in its requirements, imbued with high expectations, and highly inspiring, possessing strong political, ideological, guiding, and practical significance. Revisiting this important letter once again, he felt a profound sense of responsibility and a glorious mission. He briefly outlined the Administration’s specific measures for studying, implementing, and putting into practice the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply, along with its efforts to ensure the security of the nation’s coal and chemical‑mineral resources. He also highlighted major project outcomes and technological strengths in areas such as smart‑mine development, ecological and environmental restoration, remediation of abandoned mines, and the utilization of underground space. He expressed the hope that both sides would take this symposium as an opportunity to further expand cooperation and exchanges in resource exploration, environmental restoration and governance, overseas market development, and scientific and technological innovation, thereby driving the transformation and upgrading of the geological exploration industry. In doing so, they will make new contributions to ensuring national energy and resource security and to the comprehensive building of a modern socialist country, thus responding through concrete actions to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest expectations for geological and mineral work.
Li Guohong, Director of the Science and Technology and International Cooperation Division of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, along with several members of the leadership team of the Sixth Geological Brigade; Wang Tong, First‑Level Chief Expert of the China National Coal Geological Bureau; Lin Zhongyue, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology and Geological Department (also serving as the Safety and Environmental Protection Department); and Wang Qingfeng, Party Secretary and President of our institute, attended the aforementioned event.
