Recently, the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources launched a public tender for geological exploration projects under the 2023 ministry‑province cooperation agreement. From the initial project approval stage to the issuance of the tender notice, the institute’s leadership attached great importance to the process, conducting thorough research and analysis and meticulously planning the bidding strategy. Relevant departments overcame numerous challenges, worked overtime, and efficiently completed the preparation of the bid documents. Compared with previous rounds, both the number of projects and the total contract value have declined sharply; following intense competition, The Mineral Exploration Branch has successfully won the bid for the “Iron Ore Survey and Evaluation Project in Juzhen Town, Yucheng City, Shandong Province.” This project represents the largest single‑contract award our institute has secured to date in provincial‑level fiscal projects.

The Qihu–Yucheng National Integrated Exploration Area for Iron‑Rich Deposits, as China’s first exploration zone targeting iron‑rich ores in deeply buried, heavily overburdened regions, has received high priority from Shandong Province. The “Iron Ore Survey of Juzhen Town, Yucheng City,” recently awarded to our institute, marks the fourth iron‑rich ore exploration area we have undertaken. Based on preliminary geophysical anomaly inversion, the Juzhen Town area of Yucheng City exhibits favorable metallogenic geological conditions for the formation of skarn‑type iron‑rich deposits, with promising prospects for mineral discovery. Moving forward, our institute will rigorously adhere to project specifications and deliver all tasks to the highest quality standards, thereby making further contributions to Shandong Province’s new round of strategic initiatives aimed at achieving breakthroughs in mineral exploration.
