On the morning of October 16, 2022, the Party Committee of the institute convened an expanded central group study session, during which institute leaders, heads of all departments, and secretaries of all Party branches collectively watched the live broadcast of the opening session of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and engaged in discussions tailored to the institute’s specific circumstances.
During the live broadcast, everyone listened intently as Comrade Xi Jinping delivered the report on behalf of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The hour-and-fifty-minute address was both far-sighted and incisive, with a clear theme that inspired and motivated all present. Following the opening session, a broad contingent of Party members and cadres, in light of their respective duties and responsibilities, engaged in in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s report, sparking vigorous discussions and exchanges. All agreed that the 20th National Congress of the CPC has summarized the remarkable achievements of the past five years and the first decade of the new era, outlined development goals and directions for the next five years and beyond, and served as a source of encouragement and inspiration. Participants pledged to integrate the study of the spirit of the 20th National Congress with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions during his inspection of Shandong Province, as well as the spirit of his recent reply to the No. 6 Geological and Mineral Exploration Team of Shandong, thereby staying true to their original aspirations and mission of serving the country through geology. They will vigorously carry forward the “Three Glories” and “Four Special Qualities” ethos of the geological profession, seize historic opportunities, actively embrace the concept of green development, and wholeheartedly participate in the new round of strategic efforts to achieve breakthroughs in mineral exploration, thus writing a new chapter of high-quality development for the Shandong Institute as it embarks on a new journey toward building a modern socialist country in all respects.
Party Secretary and President Wang Qingfeng
After listening to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s report, I felt deeply inspired. The General Secretary outlined a series of theories on ecological civilization, including advancing the building of a Beautiful China, and emphasized important directives such as continuously implementing the strategies of rejuvenating the country through science and education, strengthening the country with talented people, and driving development through innovation. These provide historic opportunities for geological exploration institutions to transform and upgrade. We must thoroughly grasp the spirit of the General Secretary’s important speech, earnestly turn the “two establishments” into a conscious commitment to resolutely uphold the “two safeguards,” and, through concrete actions, rally even more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. We should fully implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and requirements regarding Shandong’s work and geological work, coordinate and advance the overall layout of the Five-sphere Integrated Plan, and synergistically promote the Four-pronged Comprehensive Strategy. In doing so, we will deliver a satisfactory answer to the call of our original aspiration on this new journey, and make new and greater contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
