Our institute has conducted a comprehensive safety inspection of the office areas and laboratories.

To implement the spirit of the Group (Bureau)’s recent meetings on work safety and epidemic prevention and control, a comprehensive safety inspection was recently conducted across all office spaces and laboratories of our institute, led by Yang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection. The inspection aimed to thoroughly identify potential safety hazards, promptly address any issues discovered, and ensure workplace safety during the National Day holiday and the period surrounding the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

From September 27 to 28, the inspection team conducted inspections at the Tai’an Base, the Jinan Base, and the laboratories. The focus was on the fire safety and electrical equipment safety of all office areas, logistics bases, and laboratories, with a special audit also carried out on the management of toxic and hazardous reagents and the laboratory environment.

Inspections revealed that all office areas have sound fire safety policies and comprehensive emergency response plans, with fire‑fighting equipment regularly inspected and maintained, fire access routes kept unobstructed, and overall safety conditions satisfactory. In the laboratories, controls over hazardous and toxic reagents are effectively in place, and the environmental improvements have yielded noticeable results. However, several issues and shortcomings were also identified, primarily as follows: First, Buildings 3 and 4 at the Jinan District base are inadequately equipped with fire extinguishers and should be promptly restocked. Second, the laboratories have not yet established a dedicated fire safety management system; a practical and tailored fire safety policy should be developed without delay. Third, the laboratory monitoring room’s anti‑theft doors and windows are of a relatively low security grade and require renovation and upgrading.

Through this comprehensive inspection, the safety awareness of personnel at all office locations, logistical support bases, and laboratories has been further strengthened, employees’ sense of responsibility for ensuring workplace safety has been enhanced, and a strong culture of safe production has been fostered.
