The 2022 “Labor Creates Happiness, Pragmatism Forges Great Achievements” photography and short-video competition, guided by the Publicity and Education Department of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and organized by China Labor Net with support from the China Corporate Culture Promotion Association, concluded on July 20, with a total of 54 entries receiving awards. Among them, the historical documentary “Artisan Spirit in the Sea of Mines,” produced by the Group (Bureau), was awarded third prize in the video category.
During the submission period from April 25 to May 25, China Labor Net received a total of 538 video entries and 1,085 photographic works from railways, civil aviation, finance, public transportation, public security, border defense, armed police, energy, chemical industries, geology, education, science, culture, health, commerce, light industry, textiles, as well as trade unions at all levels and enterprises and institutions across more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government. To boost participation in the campaign, China Labor Net launched the hashtag #ThumbsUpForYouWhoStrive on Douyin for the 2022 “Labor Creates Happiness, Hard Work Forges Great Achievements” photography and short-video contest. The initiative garnered enthusiastic responses from users, with numerous high‑profile accounts joining in; to date, the related hashtag has amassed over 600 million views.
Produced by the Group (Bureau), “Artisan Spirit in the Mining Realm” offers a corporate‑culture‑driven retrospective on the outstanding contributions made by Sinochem geologists across different historical eras to the nation’s strategic mineral resources and food security. The film uncovers the enterprise’s red heritage and sustains an inexhaustible drive for progress. Conceived and produced over several months, it drew upon thousands of historical documents, interviewed more than a hundred key eyewitnesses and chroniclers, and meticulously collected and unearthed archival materials documenting major achievements in chemical‑mining design, production, construction, and geological exploration. Filming took place across 12 provinces. Along the way, the camera captured the arduous realities of chemical‑geological work—whether in the Gobi Desert, deep within canyon jungles, or hundreds of meters underground in mines—unveiling long‑buried red memories of Sinochem Mingda. The result is a documentary that authentically portrays the working conditions and spiritual ethos of those dedicated to chemical geology.
As the nation’s oldest, largest, most specialized, and strongest comprehensive leader in the chemical geology sector, the Group (Bureau) has been honored with this distinction—a testament to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s recognition of the Group’s (Bureau’s) achievements and its spirit of dedication.
