Call to Action: “Civilized Mourning, Green Qingming”

Dear cadres and employees:
As spring warms and flowers bloom, and fragrant grasses flourish, the Qingming Festival once again arrives. On this traditional holiday—when we honor our martyrs, mourn our ancestors, and express our heartfelt remembrance—we hereby issue the following appeal to all cadres and employees, with the aim of promoting the cultural heritage of this festival, advancing positive social change, vigorously fostering a new ethos of “green, ecological, civilized, and frugal” mourning practices, and further enhancing the image of our institution as a model of civility:
I. Practice safe and dispersed tomb-sweeping, and take proper epidemic prevention measures. At present, China is experiencing a complex and severe epidemic situation, with sporadic cases interwoven with localized clusters. Our hospital urges everyone to conscientiously comply with epidemic control requirements: during the holiday period, avoid leaving Jinan unless absolutely necessary; refrain from returning home, traveling across cities, or crossing county borders; and steer clear of crowded public venues. When going out, proactively present your health code and travel itinerary code, maintain a one-meter social distance, and practice personal protective measures. In addition, please refrain from burning paper offerings, offering incense, or setting off firecrackers in urban and rural roads, public squares, residential communities, forests, lawns, and other such areas. Let us all take responsibility for safeguarding the public environment and eliminating potential fire hazards.
II. Promote a new ethos of civilized mourning and express our grief in a rational manner. Uphold social ethics, cultivate environmental awareness, and consciously abandon uncivilized practices in memorial rites. Instead, we should embrace online remembrance, floral tributes, family‑based commemorations, writing heartfelt messages, and tree planting to honor our departed loved ones and fallen heroes, integrating our reverence for the past with modern, civilized, and thoughtful forms of expression.
III. Party members and cadres should lead by example. All party members and cadres must set a good example, conscientiously abide by relevant regulations, and take the lead in observing civilized, low‑carbon mourning practices. Through concrete actions, they should inspire and influence those around them, consciously serving as advocates, promoters, and practitioners of positive social change. Party branches may organize themed Party‑day activities titled “Online Commemoration of Martyrs,” using “cloud‑based” remembrance to express reverence for and honor the memory of revolutionary predecessors.
Rituals are rooted in the heart, not in outward forms; though the season may differ, our sentiments remain the same. Our hospital calls on everyone to support epidemic prevention and control and protect the ecological environment through concrete actions, and to observe a green, civilized, and safe Qingming Festival.
