Science and Innovation Shine Bright! Jia Han from the Institute of Geology has been selected for the “7th China Association for Science and Technology Young Talent Support Program.”

　　Recently, the China Association for Science and Technology announced the list of recipients of the 7th China Association for Science and Technology Young Talent Support Program. With a recommendation from the Geological Society of China, Jia Han of the Group’s (Bureau’s) Institute of Geology was successfully selected. This marks the first time the Group (Bureau) has received this prestigious honor.

　　The “Young Talent Support Program” is a national-level initiative launched by the China Association for Science and Technology in 2015. It aims to guide the national societies, associations, and research institutes affiliated with CAST in exploring innovative mechanisms for identifying and cultivating young scientific and technological talent, thereby discovering and nurturing outstanding young individuals who hold promise as future leaders in science and technology. The program prioritizes young scientists and engineers under the age of 32 who demonstrate strong innovative capabilities and significant potential for career development, fostering them into a vital pool of high-caliber leaders and a key source of high‑level innovation teams across the nation’s major scientific and technological fields.

　　It is reported that this year’s Chinese Association for Science and Technology “Young Talent Support Program” has selected and funded a total of 444 individuals, providing each selected “supported talent” with special funding of RMB 150,000 per year for a period of three years.

　　Young people are the main force driving innovation. In recent years, the Group (Bureau) has placed great emphasis on the growth and development of young scientific and technological talent, introducing a series of institutional measures to encourage them to uphold core principles while pursuing innovation, thereby continuously enhancing their capacity for scientific and technological advancement. Jia Han’s selection for the Youth Talent Support Program will not only bolster the Group’s (Bureau’s) scientific and technological influence but also inspire young professionals to sharpen their innovation skills, actively contribute to the nation’s resource and energy development, and help propel the Group’s (Bureau’s) high-quality growth.
