Recently, the Party Committee of the institute convened its second study session of the Theoretical Study Center Group, focusing on the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the important remarks delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 2022 World Economic Forum video conference. Sun Xinyong, a member of the Party Committee and vice president, led the study and delivered a keynote address, while the participants engaged in discussions on the topics covered.

The meeting noted that the Central Economic Work Conference was an important gathering convened by the CPC Central Committee following the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. The conference thoroughly reviewed the economic performance of 2021, conducted an in-depth analysis of the current economic landscape, and laid out major plans for economic work in 2022. Endowed with strong political, ideological, strategic, forward-looking, and guiding significance, it has charted the course and provided fundamental guidance for us to carry out our economic tasks in 2022 and to ensure the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the CPC.

The meeting emphasized that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be held this year, a major event in the political life of the Party and the country. It is of paramount importance to maintain a stable and sound economic environment, a society characterized by peace and security, and a political climate marked by integrity and uprightness. The entire institute must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, particularly the important remarks made by General Secretary Xi Jinping, aligning our thinking and actions with the CPC Central Committee’s scientific assessment of the economic situation and its decisions and arrangements for economic work. We must earnestly strengthen the “Four Consciousnesses,” firmly uphold the “Four Confidences,” and resolutely safeguard the “Two Upholds.” Adhering to systems thinking, coordinated planning, and evidence-based decision-making, we should strive for practical results, consciously integrating our institute’s production, operations, and reform initiatives into the broader national and Party agenda, and translating the CPC Central Committee’s decisions and deployments into concrete actions.

The meeting called on all departments and Party branches within the institute to uphold Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guiding principle, unite and lead the broad ranks of cadres and employees in earnestly studying and implementing the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, adhere to the overarching principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, fully, accurately, and comprehensively apply the new development philosophy, accelerate the establishment of a new development pattern, focus on promoting high-quality development, coordinate development and security, balance epidemic prevention and control with production and operations, and better leverage the pivotal role of state‑owned geological exploration enterprises. It also emphasized consolidating and deepening the achievements of Party history study and education and the implementation of the spirit of the National Conference on Party Building in State‑Owned Enterprises, effectively transforming the Party’s political strengths into advantages for enterprise development, and welcoming the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with outstanding results in both Party building and business performance.
