Our institute convened the 2021 Symposium on Ideological Work, as well as the assessment and evaluation meeting for Party branches and the performance appraisal and review session for branch secretaries’ reports on their work in Party building.

On January 13, the Party Committee of the institute convened the 2021 Symposium on Ideological Work, along with a meeting to assess and evaluate party branches and to hear reports and conduct evaluations on the performance of branch secretaries in leading Party-building work. The meeting was chaired by Wang Qingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President (in charge of daily operations), and was attended by institute leaders, secretaries of all party branches, members of branch committees, the Party Committee’s organizational officer, and staff from the Party affairs department.

At the meeting, Chen Haiying, Director of the Party and Mass Work Department (Party Committee Office), led all attendees in a focused study of the spirit of the “Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Work in the New Era,” issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Drawing on the practical experience of our institute’s Party building and spiritual‑civilization initiatives, she conveyed the requirements for reinforcing the Party’s leadership over the ideological sphere and for effectively carrying out ideological and political work in the new context. Wang Qingfeng put forward four key points to further enhance our institute’s ideological and political work and its efforts in the ideological domain: First, rigorously implement the responsibility system for ideological work, firmly securing leadership, management, and discourse power in this area, and aligning thinking and understanding with the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee; second, deepen theoretical study, maintain a clear stance, and strengthen guidance of mainstream thought and public opinion; third, reinforce the management of ideological frontlines, adhering to the principle of unity, stability, and encouragement, with a focus on positive publicity, thereby purifying the public‑opinion environment; and fourth, conduct proactive research and investigations, bolster early‑warning and monitoring mechanisms in the ideological field, and promptly address and eliminate potential risks and hidden dangers.

Subsequently, the secretaries of each Party branch focused on implementing the deployment requirements for grassroots Party building, highlighting their fulfillment of principal responsibilities in this area. They each delivered reports on their work, outlining the status of Party‑building efforts in 2021, showcasing distinctive and exemplary initiatives, analyzing existing problems and shortcomings, and proposing plans for the coming year along with corrective measures. Members of the hospital’s leadership team provided one‑on‑one feedback on each branch secretary’s performance, offering candid comments and recommendations tailored to the specific characteristics of each branch.

Wang Qingfeng delivered a concluding address, fully commending the Party branch secretaries for their performance over the past year. He urged them to press ahead with renewed vigor in the new year, earnestly fulfill their duties, and vigorously organize and implement the study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as activities marking the 50th anniversary of our institute’s founding and the annual work on spiritual civilization. With regard to further strengthening Party building, he emphasized the following: First, we must further standardize Party‑building procedures, uphold the seriousness of intra‑Party political life, and ensure the effective implementation of such intra‑Party systems as the “Three Meetings and One Lesson,” themed Party days, organizational life meetings, democratic evaluations of Party members, and heart-to-heart talks. Second, we need to intensify ideological and political work, highlight exemplary practices in Party building, business operations, and other areas across all affiliated departments, foster a positive working environment, and unite hearts and minds to drive the high‑quality development of our institute. Third, we should enrich the platforms and formats for Party‑building activities, continue to advance the initiative of “One Branch, One Distinctive Feature; One Branch, One Brand,” and further promote the integrated and mutually reinforcing relationship between Party building and production and business operations, thereby helping to achieve all annual goals and tasks.
