To thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on epidemic prevention and control and promptly put into practice the guiding requirements of the China National Bureau of Coal Geology for pandemic response, on August 12, the Group (Bureau) convened a special meeting on epidemic prevention and control via the “WeCom” platform. The meeting reviewed and deployed related measures, provided an overview of recent pandemic‑control efforts, and heard reports from relevant directly affiliated units on their respective prevention and control activities in light of local epidemic conditions. The meeting was chaired by Liu Xingwang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Manager, and Deputy Director of the Group (Bureau), while Shang Honglin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board, and Director of the Bureau, delivered a concluding address.
The meeting emphasized the need to attach great importance to the current wave of the epidemic. Party committees at all levels must raise their political awareness, thoroughly study and implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and treat epidemic prevention and control as the most pressing political task at hand. They should adopt a long-term mindset in fighting the pandemic, fulfill their responsibilities conscientiously, and carry out all preventive measures effectively. It is imperative to closely monitor the epidemic situation, strengthen principal responsibility, and further enhance a sense of duty, urgency, and crisis. With firm confidence and heightened vigilance, we must resolutely overcome complacency, war-weariness, wishful thinking, and laxity, sustaining focused efforts and implementing precise measures to ensure scientific and effective prevention and control. We must improve the systems and mechanisms for epidemic prevention and control, refine specific measures, and reinforce management of key areas, venues, and populations. We should dynamically track the movements and health status of cadres and employees, rigorously prevent the spread of the virus, and maintain clear records and a thorough understanding of the situation. Inspection work must be strengthened across Beijing-based units and directly affiliated institutions, promptly identifying weaknesses and plugging gaps to eliminate risks and hidden dangers in epidemic prevention and control. Supervision and guidance of each unit’s efforts should be intensified, with stricter accountability for negligence or dereliction of duty. We should make full use of intelligent office platforms such as WeChat Work and DingTalk to enhance management of meetings and other large-scale events, reduce in-person gatherings, and minimize mass‑contact activities to prevent cluster infections. All parties must take proactive responsibility, firmly establish and enforce a robust chain of accountability for routine epidemic prevention and control, and put in place efficient mechanisms to ensure that preventive measures are implemented thoroughly and meticulously. Epidemic prevention and control for overseas projects must be reinforced through comprehensive implementation of preventive measures, with due care for the physical and mental well‑being of staff abroad. Local management must be strengthened, with active engagement at the community level to support government efforts in epidemic control.
A total of 88 participants attended the meeting, including members of the Group (Bureau) Epidemic Prevention and Control Leading Group, principal heads of all directly affiliated units, and relevant responsible officials.
