Recently, the 2021 Shandong Province “Skills Boost Shandong” Vocational Skills Competition—Geological Exploration Industry Geological Laboratory Skills Contest, which also served as the preliminary round for the Fourth National Geological Exploration Industry Vocational Skills Competition, was successfully held in Jinan. Co-hosted by the Provincial Department of Natural Resources, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and the Provincial Mining Association, and organized by the Provincial Mining Association and the Shandong Bureau of the China Metallurgical Geology Bureau, the event brought together 61 geological laboratory professionals from 20 institutions across the province. The competition featured two occupational categories—Laboratory Tester and Sample Preparation Technician—providing a comprehensive assessment of participants’ theoretical knowledge and practical on-site skills. Following two days of intense competition, our institute was awarded the “Outstanding Organization Award” as a team, while Zhang Chao received the title of “Outstanding Sample Preparation Competitor in the Shandong Province Geological Exploration Industry,” and Yin Feng’an was recognized as an “Outstanding Laboratory Tester in the Shandong Province Geological Exploration Industry.”
This competition represents a major showcase and a grand review of experimental skills within Shandong Province’s geological exploration sector, as well as a self-assessment of professional competence. Taking this event as an opportunity, Laboratory No. 19 of our institute—specializing in chemical geology and mining—will uphold the “craftsman spirit,” carry forward the ethos of striving for excellence, working tirelessly, and collaborating effectively into its future endeavors, continuously enhancing its technical capabilities, and endeavoring to achieve outstanding results in its everyday work, thereby making an even greater contribution to the high-quality development of our institute.
