To implement the spirit of our institute’s 2021 work conference on “Upholding the New Development Philosophy and Promoting High-Quality Development,” and to further strengthen staff members’ commitment to scientific and technological innovation and enhance their skills in scientific writing, the Second Party Branch organized a themed Party Day activity titled “Driving High-Quality Development through Scientific and Technological Innovation” on March 12. Members of the First and Second Party Branches, prospective Party members, personnel from the Geological Science and Technology Department, and relevant technical staff of the institute attended the event.
The event featured a special report titled “An Exploration of Scientific Paper Writing,” delivered by Comrade Xiong Yuxin, Director of the Editorial Department at the Shandong Provincial Institute of Geological Sciences and editor-in-chief of the journal “Shandong Land and Resources.” The presentation provided an insightful overview across eight key areas—types of scientific literature, essential components of scientific papers, writing and submission, peer review, revisions, and manuscript proofreading—and drew on the speaker’s firsthand experience as both editorial director and reviewer. It also included practical advice on common pitfalls in manuscript submission and strategies for enhancing writing skills.
Through this themed Party Day activity, participants deepened their understanding of writing methods and techniques, and reaffirmed their commitment to “strengthening science and technology leadership and upholding innovation-driven development,” as well as to “making contributions from our respective posts and exemplifying the vanguard role of Party members,” thereby reinforcing their resolve to jointly contribute to the high-quality development of Shandong Institute.
