The Jinan Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning visited our institute to conduct a field inspection and provide guidance on geological hazard prevention and control, as well as geological service support.

Recently, Zhang Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, led a delegation to our institute to conduct a research visit and provide guidance on geological work, including geological hazard prevention and control and mineral resource exploration. The institute’s leadership and responsible officials from relevant departments accompanied the delegation.

Zhang Hui and his delegation first conducted an on-site inspection. He inspected our hospital’s emergency supplies warehouse and highly commended its standardized layout and comprehensive equipment configuration. At the symposium, Guo Yiming presented a report on the hospital’s historical development, the strategic positioning of its core business segments, its production and operational performance, and its future development plans.

Zhang Hui expressed full appreciation for our institute’s achievements, noting that in recent years it has proactively assumed responsibility and taken decisive action in areas such as mineral resource exploration, geological hazard prevention and control, urban geology, and hydrogeological and environmental geological surveys, carrying out a substantial amount of solid and effective work—particularly in… During the period of intense rainfall known as “July and August,” they responded promptly to flood warnings and moved boldly into hazardous areas, successfully mitigating numerous safety risks through routine inspections and assessments of geological hazards and thorough risk evaluations, thereby making outstanding contributions to safeguarding the lives and property of the people. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as innovation in geohazard prevention and control technologies, breakthroughs in mineral exploration, and urban geological surveys, reaching broad consensus.

In recent years, our institute has remained steadfast in fulfilling its responsibilities as a central state-owned enterprise, taking deep integration into the broader local development agenda as its guiding principle. We have pursued meticulous, proactive efforts in the geological sector, working tirelessly to empower and bolster high-quality local development. In the realm of geological hazard prevention and control, as the emergency technical support unit for sudden geological disasters in Jinan City, we have progressively established a comprehensive preparedness framework, set up an emergency response leading group, assembled a core team of more than twenty specialized professionals, and ensured full readiness of emergency equipment and supplies. At the same time, we have deployed key personnel to work on-site, assisting local authorities in carrying out duty shifts, routine inspections, and risk assessments—thus fortifying the region’s safety defenses with professional expertise. In the field of mineral exploration, we successfully completed the field acceptance review of the Heishan Iron Ore Prospecting Project in Pingyin County, Jinan, delineating two magnetic anomalies and identifying two industrial-grade ore bodies. Our estimates indicate iron ore reserves exceeding 30 million tons, with high grade and excellent beneficiability, making this a medium-sized deposit that provides robust support for local mineral resource security and industrial development. Furthermore, our institute has undertaken a series of major projects, including urban geological surveys for the Startup Area and Qilu Science City, geological exploration and geological hazard‑related planning, paleontological fossil protection, and the development of distinctive geotowns. Through these initiatives, we have engaged comprehensively in local construction and development, delivering tangible results and contributing the strength of a central state‑owned enterprise to the region’s economic and social progress.

This field visit and guidance has established an efficient platform for communication and collaboration between the two parties, further deepening mutual understanding and trust. Our institute will continue to strengthen its expertise in the geological sciences, consistently enhance the quality and effectiveness of its technical services, and work closely with the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning to reinforce coordination, deepen resource sharing, and make greater contributions to Jinan’s high-quality development.
