At the recently concluded fourth session of the China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau In the “Hua Kan Cup” corporate basketball tournament, our institute’s team advanced through every round with unstoppable momentum, clinching the championship trophy with an impressive six-game winning streak. From the fiercely competitive group stage, where formidable opponents awaited at every turn, to the heart-pounding, high-stakes finals, the players delivered one exhilarating, unforgettable victory after another. Not only did they showcase Shandong Institute’s unwavering strength, but they also treated all employees to a series of thrilling, electrifying games—exemplifying both superb skill and indomitable spirit.
This year’s tournament features a field of formidable contenders. In the group stage, our team faced… right from the outset. “Devil’s Test”—plunged into the formidable Group B, the team faced two powerhouses on day one: first, the Fujian representative squad, a perennial contender that claimed titles in the inaugural and second editions of the tournament and finished runner-up in the third—truly a reigning champion; and second, the Saibei Thunder, a star‑studded unit forged through a strategic partnership between the Inner Mongolia Institute and Northeast Company. Under mounting pressure, the players showed no fear, meeting each challenge with composure. Relying on precise tactical coordination and tenacious defense, they maintained control even amid intense physical battles, dispatching their rivals to secure an opening victory and notch back-to-back wins. The pace only intensified thereafter. Over consecutive matches on days three and four, the team battled fatigue, giving their all on every offensive possession and defensive stop, clinching both contests by decisive margins. In the end, with an impeccable 4–0 record, they finished atop their group, advancing confidently to the semifinals.
On the semifinal stage, the challenge reached a new height. After back-to-back matches, the players were physically drained, with some even taking to the field while nursing injuries. Yet their burning desire for victory and their commitment to the team’s honor kept them going; gritting their teeth, they launched relentless attacks and defenses, displaying formidable collective strength and tactical discipline.
On the finals court, our university’s basketball team once again faced their longtime group-stage rival, Fujian. Players on both sides traded blows, refusing to yield an inch, with the score remaining tightly contested and the game locked in a stalemate that eventually reached a fever pitch. Our team maintained the consistent performance and steely composure they’ve displayed throughout the tournament—every pass was crisp and precise, every shot taken with unwavering resolve, and every defensive effort fought for every inch of the court. In the end, they delivered a masterful performance to vanquish their opponents and claim the championship title!
