“Unite Hearts and Pool Strength, Usher in a New Chapter” — The Qihu Dazhang Iron Ore Geological Exploration Project Officially Commences

On March 21, the geological exploration project for the Dazhang Iron Mine in Qihe County, undertaken by our institute, held a grand groundbreaking ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of the project command center at the exploration site in Dazhang Town, Qihe County, Dezhou City. With the theme “Unite Hearts and Pool Strength, Usher in a New Chapter,” the event marked the official launch of the Dazhang Iron Mine geological exploration project.

The ceremony commenced promptly at 10:00 a.m., presided over by Wang Qicheng, Party Secretary and General Manager of Jinling Mining. Attending the event were Wang Zhigang, Deputy County Magistrate of Qihe County; Feng Yimin, Director of the Qihe County Bureau of Natural Resources; Wang Jiquan, Deputy Director of the same bureau; Chi Mingjie, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of Shandong Iron & Steel Group as well as Chairman of Jinling Mining; Jiao Sen, Member of the Bureau (Group) Party Committee in charge of Party and administrative affairs at the Shandong Institute and Chief Engineer; and Qiu Guanghui, Vice President of the Shandong Institute, among other leaders. In addition, Han Bin, Secretary of Renlijiji Town in Qihe County; members of the dedicated task force for the Dazhang Project at Jinling Mining; and staff from our institute involved in the Dazhang Iron Ore Project also took part in the groundbreaking ceremony.

The ceremony proceeded in an orderly manner amid a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. Wang Zhigang, Vice County Magistrate of Qihe County, and Chi Mingjie, Secretary of the Shandong Iron and Steel Group, delivered speeches one after another, while Jiao Sen, on behalf of our institute, made a statement. In his address, Jiao Sen briefly outlined our institute’s development journey and technical capabilities, emphasizing that, as the entity responsible for the Dazhang Project in Qihe, they feel both a profound sense of responsibility and a great honor. He solemnly pledged that Sinochem Shandong Institute will elevate its perspective and shoulder its duties with a spirit of commitment; rigorously control quality and leverage technology to overcome challenges in exploration; stay firmly focused on objectives and ensure timely progress through efficient collaboration; and prioritize workplace safety by strictly upholding all safety standards and red lines. With a determined attitude—“the start is a decisive battle, and the beginning calls for a sprint”—they will ensure the timely completion of all exploration tasks.

Subsequently, the leaders jointly cut the ribbon to inaugurate the project and unveiled the plaque for the “Qihu Dazhang Iron Ore Exploration Project Office,” marking the official launch of the Dazhang Iron Ore geological exploration project in Qihu County.

Following the ceremony, the distinguished leaders and guests, accompanied by Xiong Yuqiang, Director of our Institute’s Mineral Exploration Branch (Business Unit) and Project Manager for the Qihe Dazhang Iron Ore Geological Exploration Project, conducted an on-site inspection and engaged in discussions at the project site, offering valuable insights into the project’s progress and plans for the next phase.

The Qihu Dazhang Iron Ore Project is an important initiative for implementing the national resource security strategy and a key undertaking for promoting high-quality development of both the enterprise and the local economy. The successful holding of this groundbreaking ceremony not only marks the official launch of the geological exploration project at the Dazhang Iron Ore Mine in Qihu County, but also underscores the fruitful outcomes of government–enterprise collaboration and the strong confidence fostered by multi‑party cooperation. As the project’s implementing entity, our institute will leverage its technical strengths and professional expertise, work closely with all participating parties, engage in meticulous planning and careful deployment, and jointly ensure the smooth execution of the project. We are confident that, through the concerted efforts of all stakeholders, the Qihu Dazhang Iron Ore Geological Exploration Project will achieve complete success, contributing new achievements to China’s mineral resource exploration endeavors and making fresh contributions to the nation’s resource security strategy and local economic development.
