Our hospital held its third-quarter technical quality management meeting.

Our hospital convened the third-quarter technical quality management meeting.

To promote the institutionalization and standardization of project management and further enhance the quality and technical‑quality management of our institute’s geological projects, the institute recently convened the Third‑Quarter 2024 Technical Quality Management Meeting. The meeting was attended by more than 20 participants, including Chief Engineer Li Yinzhen, Chief Expert of the Bureau (Group) Yin Xiuzhen, technical heads and key technical personnel from all departments under the institute, as well as staff from the Geological Science and Technology Department.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of the Bureau (Group)’s “Notice on Conducting the 2024 Annual Quality Inspection of Geological Projects” and reported on the common issues identified during the recent technical quality inspections carried out within the institute. It also communicated the spirit of the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources’ “Notice on Encouraging Geological Exploration Units and Mining Enterprises to Submit Proposals for Strategic Mineral Exploration Blocks,” made arrangements for the inclusion of provincial and municipal fiscal‑funded projects in the project database, and coordinated the quality and progress of such projects. In addition, the meeting outlined plans for technical and skills training, as well as for the renewal of geological disaster‑prevention qualifications.

Participants engaged in a thorough discussion on our institute’s technical quality management and scientific‑technological innovation efforts, offering detailed recommendations on project quality management, the approval of government‑funded projects, skills training, and the renewal of professional qualifications. These inputs have provided valuable insights and practical approaches to enhancing our institute’s technical quality management.

Li Yinzhen stated that, in terms of project quality management, the institute will continue to strengthen internal preliminary review procedures and rigorously ensure report quality. Regarding the approval of government-funded projects, it is essential to complete data collection well in advance and integrate new technologies, methodologies, theories, and equipment into the project‑approval process. As for skills training, a combined approach of “going out” and “inviting in” will be adopted, actively facilitating connections between technical staff and universities, encouraging participation in external exchanges and collaborations, and conducting timely training for all technical personnel. With respect to the renewal of geological disaster‑related qualifications, progress on relevant projects should be vigorously advanced, project acceptance procedures completed promptly, and the smooth renewal of both geological disaster‑construction and geological disaster‑supervision qualifications ensured. In addition, the meeting underscored that chief experts must effectively assume their role as technical leaders, reinforce their defined responsibilities, and proactively demonstrate accountability in areas such as departmental project quality and technological innovation.

Quality is the cornerstone of our institution and the foundation of all that we do. Taking the opportunity of regularly convening quarterly meetings on technical quality management, our institute will continue to underscore the importance of technical quality control, steadily enhance our level of technical quality management, and lay a solid foundation for the long-term, high‑quality development of Shandong Institute.
