Shang Honglin Pays a Visit to the China Geological Survey

On December 23, Party Secretary and Director Shang Honglin paid a visit to the China Geological Survey, where he was received by Zhong Ziran, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Director-General, and Party Secretary of the China Geological Survey. He also held a symposium with Li Jinfa, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director-General of the China Geological Survey, accompanied by Jiao Sen, Chief Engineer of the General Administration. After learning about the recent developments of our bureau, Zhong Ziran commended and praised the reform and development achievements we have made in recent years, urging us to seize the opportunities presented by transformation and attain even greater successes in the future. During the symposium, Li Jinfa welcomed Shang Honglin and his delegation, and, building on the China Geological Survey’s promotional video, provided a detailed overview of the substantial geological survey results achieved during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. He expressed his hope that, during the upcoming 14th Five-Year Plan period, our bureau would continue to maintain broad and in-depth cooperation.
Shang Honglin expressed his gratitude to the China Geological Survey for its longstanding and robust support of our bureau’s geological work. Highlighting four distinct phases—“achieving remarkable accomplishments,” “pioneering reform,” “ensuring steady development,” and “proactively embracing change”—he presented to the China Geological Survey our bureau’s 68-year history of steadfast reform and self‑driven innovation. He also outlined our achievements in core areas such as geological surveys, resource exploration, and underground engineering. Furthermore, citing our undertaking of large‑scale environmental remediation and ecological restoration projects at coal‑mining sites as a case study, he showcased our progress in ecological conservation. He voiced the hope that the China Geological Survey will continue to provide support in project information sharing and implementation coordination, and proposed establishing an information platform to further facilitate exchanges and cooperation. Our bureau, for its part, will remain a loyal and supportive partner to the China Geological Survey, deepening collaboration to achieve mutual benefit and win‑win outcomes.
Jiao Sen provided an overview of the number, types, and outcomes of the geological survey projects our bureau has undertaken since 2000, expressing hope for continued support from the China Geological Survey in future endeavors. The two sides also engaged in in-depth discussions on a range of topics, including “scientific and technological innovation” and “information platform development.”
