[Work Safety Month] Our hospital convened the second Safety Committee meeting of 2024.

On the afternoon of June 7, our institute convened the second Safety Committee meeting of 2024 to further study and implement the spirit of relevant documents issued by the China National Coal Administration and the Bureau (Group), and to plan and deploy activities for “Safety Production Month.” Wang Qingfeng, Party Secretary and President, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while all members of the Safety Committee were in attendance.

The meeting focused on disseminating and studying the Bureau (Group)’s “Notice on Issuing the Three-Year Action Plan for Root-Cause Rectification and Tough-Action Efforts in Work Safety (2024–2026),” the “Notice on Strengthening Work Safety During the Flood Season,” and the “Notice on Organizing Activities for the 23rd National Work Safety Month,” and outlined the institute’s plans for related Work Safety Month activities as well as its immediate work safety priorities.

The meeting emphasized that the bureau’s (group’s) relevant systems and regulations constitute a powerful tool for ensuring safe production both now and in the period ahead, and that thorough publicity and effective implementation must be ensured. It is imperative to further align thinking, rigorously implement tasks in accordance with the meeting’s directives, prioritize hazard identification and remediation, and organize comprehensive self-inspections during “Safety Production Month” to promptly eliminate potential accident risks and continuously enhance the ability to identify risks and improve the effectiveness of hazard control. Taking “Safety Production Month” as an opportunity, we must elevate the institute’s (company’s) safety‑production efforts to a new level. We should foster a culture in which everyone prioritizes safety, strengthen individual and collective capabilities in emergency response and mutual protection, and ensure that emergency access routes remain unobstructed.

In his concluding remarks, Wang Qingfeng emphasized three key points: First, ensure that the “Safety Production Month” campaign is effectively implemented and yields tangible results, thereby enhancing the institution’s (company’s) inherent safety standards. Second, rigorously address prominent issues and weak links in safety management, fully implement the Bureau’s (Group’s) Three-Year Action Plan for Root-Cause Rectification and Tough-Struggle in Safety Production (2024–2026), and firmly safeguard the bottom line of workplace safety. Third, strengthen and enforce accountability for safety production during the flood season, and carry out all related tasks with diligence and thoroughness. He called on all cadres and employees to earnestly study and apply General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on workplace safety, to implement the requirements of higher authorities, to conduct the “Safety Production Month” activities in depth, to vigorously advance the three-year action plan for root‑cause rectification and tough‑struggle in safety production, and to proactively prevent and defuse major risks. By taking decisive measures, they should ensure the safe conduct of all operations and provide robust safeguards for the institution’s (company’s) high‑quality development.

At the meeting, Pan Weicai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, also emphasized the special campaign to address the persistent problem of improper dining and drinking, the implementation of the “no alcohol” policy for official receptions, compliance with regulations on Party members’ online conduct, key considerations for maintaining integrity and safety during the Dragon Boat Festival, and holiday on-duty arrangements.
