Recently, Huang Yongming, Director of Regional Operations at the Bureau (Group), led a delegation to Peru for a business visit to Jinzhao Peru Mining Co., Ltd. The team also paid courtesy calls on Shougang Peru Iron & Steel and other Chinese‑invested enterprises operating in Peru, conducted an on‑site inspection and field study of the Banggou Iron Ore Project, and carried out a review and provided guidance on the work of the Bureau (Group)’s Peru Project Office. At the invitation of Wu Bin, President of Jinzhao Peru Mining Co., Ltd., the delegation undertook an on‑site hydrogeological survey and convened a project‑working seminar.

At the symposium, Wu Bin extended a warm welcome to Huang Yongming and his delegation, providing a detailed overview of Jinzhao Peru Mining Co., Ltd. and the Banggou Iron Mine, and commending the Bureau (Group) for the geological technical services it has rendered to the Banggou Iron Mine over the past two years. Huang Yongming outlined the Bureau (Group)’s historical development, business model, and technological strengths, emphasizing that both the Bureau (Group) and Jinzhao Peru Mining Co., Ltd. have fully demonstrated the mission and responsibility of state-owned central enterprises and leading private firms in safeguarding the nation’s strategic mineral resource security. The two sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on the further development and cooperation of the Banggou project, reaching consensus on geological exploration, engineering geology, hydrogeology, and geotechnical construction.
Subsequently, Huang Yongming and his delegation conducted on-site surveys of the Banggou mining area and the San Juan Public Port in Jinzhao Marcona. At the hydrogeology symposium, Huang Yongming commended the hydrogeological research conducted at the Banggou mining area and the results achieved, while offering guidance on specific geological tasks. Wu Bin stated that, through this symposium, they had gained a clearer understanding of the mine’s hydrogeological conditions and a more defined approach to their work, and expressed hope that the two sides would, in the next phase, engage in further exchanges focused on technical issues and collaborative plans.

During the inspection, Huang Yongming and his delegation visited the Peru project office to extend their condolences to frontline workers, commending them for their hard work and steadfast commitment on the overseas frontlines. The project office provided a detailed briefing on the project’s general status, organizational structure, and construction management arrangements. Huang Yongming praised the project team’s efforts in ensuring safety and maintaining high construction quality, and outlined five key requirements for the project’s management:
First, we must strengthen standardized management. In our work, we will strictly comply with Peruvian laws and regulations, meticulously organize construction activities, foster positive community and labor relations, and establish a standardized project office. Second, we must enhance safety production management. The project office shall rigorously implement the principle of “safety first, prevention foremost,” conduct thorough safety training for both Chinese and Peruvian teams, raise safety awareness, and ensure zero accidents in production. Third, we must improve communication and coordination with the client. By promptly understanding client requirements, we will elevate service quality, facilitate the smooth progress of the project, and lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation. Fourth, we should leverage the advantages of this demonstration project. In alignment with the national Belt and Road Initiative and the Group’s development strategy, we will adopt advanced overseas project management practices and focus on strengthening our capabilities in market development and project operations. Fifth, we must effectively integrate Party building with production and business operations. We will fully harness the exemplary role of Party members, intensify education on Party discipline and principles, and ensure that our thinking and actions remain consistently aligned with the CPC Central Committee.
