Development History
Our institute was formed through the reorganization of two geological exploration units. Prior to 2002, it was a provincial-level geological exploration institution under full-budgetary allocation and management by Shandong Province, affiliated with the Shandong Provincial Department of Petrochemical Industry. One of its predecessors was the “Shandong Provincial Chemical Minerals Geological Exploration Team” (Jinan Division), established in 1972; the other was the “Ministry of Chemical Industry Potash Salt Geological Brigade” (Tai’an Division), founded in 1979.
1993
The Shandong Provincial Chemical Mineral Geological Exploration Team has been renamed the Shandong Provincial Chemical Geological Survey Institute.
1995
The Potash Geology Brigade of the Ministry of Chemical Industry was renamed the Taian Geological Exploration Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry.
2002
The Taian Geological Exploration Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry was renamed the Taian Geological Exploration Institute of the China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau; the Shandong Provincial Chemical Geological Exploration Institute was renamed the Shandong Geological Exploration Institute of the China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau.
2009
The Shandong Geological Exploration Institute of China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau and the Tai’an Geological Exploration Institute, along with the entire organizational structure of the China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau, were placed under the administration of the China National Coal Geological Bureau.
2011
The Shandong Geological Exploration Institute of China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau and the Tai’an Geological Exploration Institute were merged and reorganized to form the current Shandong Geological Exploration Institute of China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau, at the deputy bureau level. Its headquarters is located in Jinan, with two operational areas—Jinan (No. 80 Lishan Road, Lixia District, Jinan; No. 15 Lieshi Shan North Road, Licheng District, Jinan) and Tai’an (No. 4 Yingtaoyuan West Road, Daiyue District, Tai’an).
